2008 Post Season Information
REGION 92 CHAMPSIONSHIP GAMES will take place during the two weeks
immediately following Thanksgiving week. The number of qualifying
teams in each division will determine the specific time, date and
location of each semi-final and final game. The Regional Scheduler
will release the schedule shortly after the last game of the regular
season. In the meantime, seeding tables are provided to give a general
idea of playoff progression.
Upon completion of the regular fall season all teams in divisions
U10-12-14 qualifying under the Team Referee Program, will advance to
the Region 92 Championship Games. Teams taking first place in these
games will advance to represent Region 92 in the AREA 1D LEAGUE
CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT. The Region's League
Champions will play against top teams from other AYSO Regions in Area
1D. This includes teams from Hawthorne, Lennox, Manhattan/Hermosa Beach,
North Redondo, South Redondo and Westchester. Games take place
throughout January, on fields within Area 1D. The area website
(www.ayso1d.org), will post game schedules, standings, etc as they
become available.
At the end of the Area D League Championship games, all first place
teams advance to the SECTION ONE LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT
to face first place teams from other Areas in the Section. These
games are held in March on fields in Section One.
(Games have historically been held in Riverside and/or San Bernardino
Counties, however this is not a given). Areas that comprise Section One
may be found on the Section website at www.aysosection1.org.
