Region 92 Programs & Policies 2008 - 2009 If you are a Referee, Coach, Volunteer or Parent, you should familiarize yourselves with these important Region 92 policies and procedures to ensure that Region 92 experiences the best possible season.
2008-2009 Area 1D U16/U19 Rules and Regulations These rules shall apply when two (2) or more Under 16 and/or Under 19 teams (regardless of Region) play a combined schedule coordinated by AYSO Area 1-D Beach Cities. The Area 1-D Beach Cities Rules & Regulations are intended to cover those situations not addressed in AYSO National Rules and Regulations or Section One Rules and Regulations. An annotated supplement to the Area 1D U16/U19 Rules and Regulations.
AYSO National Rules and Regulations 2008-2009 This is the official version of the AYSO Rules & Regulations, which went into effect on August 1, 2008. This is the version of the Rules & Regulations ratified by the executive members at the 2008 NAGM in San Francisco. It includes provisions originally approved at the 2007 NAGM, the implementation of which was delayed until this year. These rules may be amended or supplemented by Section or Area rules. On 1 July 2008, the new Laws of the Game, modified at the 122nd Annual General Meeting of the International Football Association Board (IFAB) in Perthshire, Scotland on 8 March 2008, came into force. El 1º de julio entraron en vigor las nuevas Reglas de Juego, modificadas en la 122ª reunión general anual de la International Football Association Board (IFAB) celebrada en Perthshire, Escocia, el 8 de marzo de 2008.
AYSO Summary of the 2008 Changes To the Laws of the Game The 122nd Annual General Meeting of the International Football Association Board was held March 8th in Gleneagles, Scotland. With 2010 FIFA World Cup(TM) qualification matches underway, the IFAB made minimal revisions. The only amendment to the substance of the Laws of the Game is in Law Two, IFAB Decision One. There was also a revision to Law One (standardizing field of play dimensions for ‘A’ international matches) approved in March but subsequently suspended at a special IFAB meeting in May; the proposed change will be reviewed at the Board’s 2009 AGM in Northern Ireland. Click here to read a summary by provided by Bill Mason, AYSO Law Interpreter, of how this year’s IFAB actions apply to AYSO.
USSF Advice to Referees on the Laws of the Game - 2007 edition Back online by popular demand. An indispensible companion to the LOTG. This book of Advice to Referees is specifically intended to give USSF referees, assistant referees and fourth officials a reliable compilation of those international and national Guidelines remaining in force modified or updated. It is not a replacement for the Laws of the Game, nor is it a "how to" book on refereeing: it is an official statement of Federation interpretations of the Laws.
2008-2009 Guide to Procedures for Referees, Assistants Referees and Fourth Officials The United States Soccer Federation adopts the procedures outlined in this pamphlet in order to standardize officiating techniques, signals and mechanics at all levels of play. They have been recommended by a panel of senior referees and instructors and have been thoroughly tested at international, professional, adult and youth levels of competition. When FIFA published the 2008-2009 edition of the Law book, the language of the Law had been revised in several places. These revisions were intended to clarify and simplify the Law in certain areas and to include specific language on some matters which had previously been commonly or traditionally understood but not found in the Law itself. Additionally, the section which had been titled “Additional Instructions and Guidelines” in the 2007-2008 Laws of the Game was revised and renamed “Interpretation of the Laws of the Game and Guidelines for Referees”. This Supplemental Memorandum identifies matters which might need further clarification for officials in the United States. Various AYSO documents for referees and of interest to coaches, spectators, and players with a need to know: "Where in the Law does it say that?".
